The Urology Department at TOBB ETU Hospital has a state of the art operating room capable of carry out all types of endoscopic surgeries. The OR1™ system, a first in Turkey, enables one-point control for all of the devices and surrounding components within the operating room. The system also has a conference system to be used for the purpose of training and academics. All of the imaging resources (endoscopy camera, wall camera, conference room camera) have advanced standards.

INTRODUCING THE DEPARTMENT:

With its current infrastructure, the Urology Department at TOBB ETU Hospital is able to perform all interventions procedures for the purpose of testing and treatment carried out in modern urology practice. Diagnosis and treatment for prostate diseases, bladder stone disease, all types of urologic cancer, urologic infections, andrology, pediatric and female urology is available at the department. There is an advanced multi-channel urodynamic laboratory supported by a computer system in order to provide support for polyclinic services. Interventions such as diagnosing and monitoring bladder tumors with a flexible/compact cystoscope, placing and removing stents are carried out painlessly under polyclinic conditions. For the purpose of diagnosing prostate cancer, doctors in the department are able to take prostate biopsies using a transrectal ultrasound, under local anesthesia. Thanks to this technical infrastructure, procedures such as endoscopic (urethroscopic, percutaneous) open stone surgeries, endoscopic (TUR-closed) open prostate surgeries used in benign prostate enlargements, and Greenlight PVP treatment using laser energy can be carried out successfully. Thanks to our experienced staff in the department we are able to perform all types of radical surgeries required for kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular, and penile cancer. In the field of clinical andrology, our department offers microscopic varicocelectomy surgery required for infertility treatment, and all types of medical and surgical treatment services required for erectile dysfunctions. In the field of female urology, our department offers treatment for stress incontinence, and urges incontinence (urinary incontinence). Our developed urodynamic laboratory assists us in assessing alternative treatments. In the field of pediatric urology, our department provides all types of medical and surgical treatment for congenital abnormalities of the genito-urinary tract, recurring urinary tract infections, and urinating disorders, in a multi-disciplinary fashion together with our pediatric department. In the field of neurourology, our department diagnoses, treats, and monitors nerve-related genitourinary diseases.
