Neurosurgery department provides continuous emergency service and emergency surgery is being performed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On top of this primary responsibility, there is a clinic running six days a week only interrupted during elective surgeries. Under the leadership of an experienced and internationally famous professor the team’s expertise include neurooncology, neurovascular surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, pain surgery, and complex spinal surgery.


Monday – Friday : 08:30-18:00

Saturday : 08:30-13:00

The above stated hours are for neurosurgery clinic and most of the elective surgery. Emergency service is given round the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.


High tech ambulance with ventilator for the transport of high-risk patients in and out, 24-hour computerized tomography (CT), 24-hour magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) , electromyography (EMG), and video-electroencephalography (EEG) for epilepsy monitoring, high tech operative microscope, fluoroscopy for intra-operative radiography, navigation for intra-operative tumor surgeries, and ultrasonographic aspirator for brain tumor surgery.


Patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures are also looked after by ICU specialists, tested by neurology experts and scanned and intervened by neuroradiologists.


On top of radiological and neurophysiological diagnostic procedures like computerized tomography, MR, cerebral angiography, EMG, EEG, and SEP; all types of biochemical, microbiological and serological blood and cerebrospinal tests are carried out at our central laboratory.


Surgery for tumors, cerebrovascular disorders as well as childhood diseases in the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system are provided. Rapid diagnosis and treatment for all types of head and spinal injuries incurred as a result of trauma is achieved in coordination with the emergency unit and the intensive care unit.


Trauma: Decompression for compression fractures, for extradural and subdural hemorrhage

Neurooncological Diseases: Microsurgery for all brain and spinal cord tumors plus for all tumors on the peripheral nerves (with specialization for trans-sphenoidal surgery for pituitary adenomas and skull base tumors).

Cerebrovascular Diseases: Microsurgery for intracerebral hemorrhage, for cerebral aneurysms, for arteriovenous malformations.

Spinal Diseases: Microsurgery for cervical and lumbar disc disease plus decompressive and reconstructive surgery for spinal injuries, spinal stenosis and spondilolysthesis.

Peripheral Nerve and Pain Surgery: Microsurgery for entrapment neuropathies like carpal tunnel or cubital tunnel syndromes. Microvascular decompression surgery for trigeminal neuralgia and hemi-facial spasms.

Pediatric (Childhood Nerves): Microsurgery for all congenital cerebral and spinal disorders, hydrocephalus, childhood brain tumors, and vascular anomalies.
